Outside Play
We all reminisce about our childhood and the countless hours we spent playing with our friends and having fun. Our children even at a young age do not get even half the play time that we did when we were growing up. Children now-a-days are exposed to digital media very early on and it is easy for busy parents to let their children play video games so they can work without being distracted. The end result is that children just aren’t getting enough outside playtime and physical activity. This also leads to childhood
obesity in some cases.
Play helps children develop all their 5 domains – social, physical, intellectual, creative and emotional domains. It is an outlet for the fullness of their creativity, and it is an absolutely critical part of their childhood. With creative play, children blossom and flourish.
At Safari Kid we incorporate outside play time (weather permitting) as part of the program. In fact, California state law requires outside playto be part of every preschool program.
For our after school children we have free play, basketball, soccer and badminton along with sports days.We understand that our schedules are very demanding, but we should all encourage our children to go out and play (while being supervised by an adult) so they can develop
the skills necessary to succeed in life.
